The Basics of Photography
Aperture: A round opening in the lens that controls the amount of light that passes through. This is measured in fStops: f2.8, f4, f5.6, f8, f11, f16, f22.
Shutter speed: A flap that opens for a certain amount of time to control the amount of light that passes through. Shutter speed is measure in fractions of seconds.
Exposure: A combination of an aperture and a shutter speed that controls the amount of light entering the camera.
Overexposure means there is too much light entering the camera. Underexposure means there is too little light entering the camera.

Depth of field: The range of distances between the nearest and farthest objects that appear sharp. This is controlled by the size of the aperture.
